The truck has 122k miles, starts right up. Bose stereo factory option is non-repairable by local shops, and must be sent to an independent specialty shop. Even with all those miles on it, it rode and handled very well. The speedometer, tachometer, water temperature and fuel level gauges are large and big buttons are used for the necessary functions. Almost every time I try to get into 4L and back to 4H the gears grind like crazy - Yes, I have it in neutral and it's parked, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Traction was never a problem, nor was stability—even when the side of a sand dune proved steeper than it looked. Anyone who knows these cars knows about this issue.
The suspension was designed to handle streets and trails alike. The radio buttons are a little too small, and the electric mirror switches are hidden from view by the wheel, but Nissan's designers have done their work well. And all elements of the Pathfinder's exterior design are clean, efficient and attractive. It is very reliable and we have had zero major problems with it so far, but I believe some little things need to be replaced. The wheel wells needed to be repaired due to rust.
It doesn't feel right and it makes odd noises. I own a Porsche and a Mercedes, but the Pathfinder is the car I can always count on. I will keep buying Nissan Rigs until they put me in the ground. Front brakes need to be replaced. It is no longer sufficient to build a vehicle that carries people into the woods; any machine worthy of consideration nowadays has to get them in and out of the wilderness comfortably, serve as daily transportation, and look good. Walkaround Nissan designed the Pathfinder to look less like a truck than the first generation.

This is one of those rare vehicles, that if you simply maintain it, it will easily give 200K+ without any headaches. There are no rattles, squeaks, or thumps. No, I don't think so. Had to be towed back to the nearest town due this issue. First thing in the morning 1st to 2nd shifts a little harder then the other shifts but quickly gets smoother when it heats up.
General Comments: The Pathfinder has been a great choice for me. Gas mileage has dropped to about 10mpg, probably due to charcoal filter. It's obvious that they either moved it by accident or that one employee did it on purpose. And, it will serve you quite well for a very long time. A quiet, comfortable environment is one of the Pathfinder's greatest assets.
Not on top of my priority list. We are surrounded by salt water daily. And that suits us just fine. Rather then selling it, I bought it off of her and I love it. Once, I accidently left the radiator empty while doing a fluid change and rushed out to do something. Summary There's no denying the Pathfinder has a lot going for it.
They don't know enough to replace a simple part of the suspension. But neither of these are a direct reflection on the vehicle, but rather it being 11 years old. My '98 model had rust problems.
