I was able to regain control of the vehicle and pull off to the shoulder. I put the vehicle in park, referred to my manual, which was no help. I believe I have the latest version currently installed. I then noticed the brake lights were not operating at all. The only difference I can tell is that I had a door open the entire time while unloading. It's really annoying and unnecessary to leave the lights on for so long. The contact stated that his vehicle is experiencing the same failure as noted in recall number 07v063000 exterior lighting:brake lights:switch.
The brake lights stayed on. My airbag light is on because the driers side seat belt buckle is messed up it has a resistor in it to tell the system weather or not your seat belt is buckled. There is something seriously wrong with them. I generally do not lock it when I park in my garage at home. Is this something as simple as resetting the codes? Volkswagon would not offer any repairs or diagnostics since my vehicle was not listed on the recall.
Parking brake light constantly flashes. I just uncheck box as Chitty mentioned above days ago. All recalls have been taken care of on my car at this point so I am not sure what the issue is, my fear is the switch is going out, but wouldn't I have the same issue starting the car? Anybody any ideas as to what this might be. It has been on since. This failure was trouble-shot and repaired by the dealer both times. The manufacturer was not made a ware of the failure.
Everything has went wrong with this car that can go wrong. Can someone help me out. Sylvia in service made the appt. Dealership got it covered with my extended warranty, but yet I had to pay 1200. The vw customer care center is saying that they will not reimburse me for this repair.
My repair shop and several web sites verify that this is a common problem on the Passat also. After evaluating the problem I discovered that the headlights were so poorly designed that the headlights left a significant dark spot well in front of the car on both sides. Vehicle safety should be the priority for all manufacturers and dealerships and I am shocked at the lack of interest I am receiving from all I contact about this issue. I disconnected the battery and that didn't work. . There is recall going on for these in many models.
The battery was basically dead and I had to boost it to get going. Thank god I was going in a very very slow speed. I called my dealer and they told me my car was not covered under the current recall. Regards andy Your engine cuts down to protect itself as it has a fault I suggest you buy a vag. The current and failure mileages were 67,085. Rare for the handbrake switch to be faulty but may need lube but likely a brake leak. When using the signal normally, I see the small blinking green arrow for the right signal though.
I think they might be called cornering lights instead fog light. The dealer said there is a defect and the lights can intermediatly turn off then on. The mouse started 2 days ago and I think it's staring to get worse. But I was unsure if I should venture further and took route 100 back to my home in lew. And the little fog light symbol on the switch does not light up. Fog lamp are called fog lamp for driving in fog and you don't drive in fog with high beams on. The light would illuminate while driving and would dim when the brakes were applied.
This vehicle is equipped with an electronic parking brake button on the dash. I could of gotten into a bad accident because my entire brake system failed on me today. The contact had to pay for the repair, but was told by the manufacturer before going to the dealer, that it would be free. I'm not going to automatically agree with the original poster that the headlights are defective. The contact felt that the recall should be expanded to include his vehicle. It was purchased on April 23, 2007. After 10 min of shut off, I restarted, the dash still display parking brake fault.
We were exiting a highway onto a dark exit ramp when I realized I could not see the side of the road at all. I haven't tried it so I don't know if it works, if anyone does try it please post a follow up and a before-after picture as confirmation. Do fog lights also stay on now with brights? I really want to have it active on my passat. I found out last night that all 3 of my brake lights are out. My lights function just fine. It seems that they have removed the electronics on the 2014's.
The current and failure mileages were 72,000. I have noticed recently, two times I have turned the car off and the lights stay on. I hope this information helps. The brake light would not shut off and the right head light went out for the second time. I told her to try and disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. This problem was actually identified more than 3 months ago and we don't know if a brake problem occurred how it will show since the light is always on.
