It may be lacking a bit of momentum and intensity variations. There are 2 of some boards, but the other of those 2 is compilation board of older samples. What's the deal with the roland srx 11 complete piano card. SonicCell installed for several days. Would like to play around with the 10 World one someday, too.
I might have gotten that wrong - I'm on the road at the moment and don't have access to these instruments. I can play my classical pieces and they sound fine. Maybe with some tweaking I would have got something reasonable, but I decided not to go with it. Also, I didn't like the artifact noise that is on some of the keys but seemed to be cleaned up a bit on the onboard samples. I was please to get the Rhodes sounds. Quite big and rich sounding when you give it a bit of welly and a nice delicate sound - still with a good rich flavour - for quieter sections.
Thanks, yea I like the violins on it from the demo. I don't know if any of that helps. Really disliked it in that set up. There are some waves inside, but nothing special. For me in an overall genre sense , I like a piano with great overall sound that's nice and warm, but can get dirty when you want it to be. Thanks for your input, everyone.

I'm deciding between the srx 02 or the srx 11. There's one paired with strings that I quite like too - 025Grand n Str - though I don't have a situation where I'd use that. You should probably try it out yourself. I've never been entirely happy with the X's pianos, and normally just end up using the vanilla Concert Grand patch as I find it sits better in a mix than the Ultimate Grand.
There is pretty comprehensive demo on roland's site. If anyone would like to do that, just message me with email address or something like that. They sounded to me like manipulated samples rather than real samples of tack pianos although I didn't really compare it to the onboard patches. No matter how I set the velocity scales it was either too muffled or to bright, never right. All samples were taken from a single, extremely rare and elegant European piano to faithfully preserve its delicate sound. As for the higher keys, I do love that undampered ambient sound that you get playing very high up, I think that adds a lot to the piano's over all character, something that gets overlooked a lot I think when they sample them. I have the Complete Orchestral and find having to restrain myself not to use the orchestras on every track. Designed to be extremely realistic, these ultra-expressive sounds offer multiple performance articulations and 4-way velocity-switching capability. But all the boards are a lot different, so go with what kind of sounds you want to use. I gather there are many like you here who've dealt with this dilemma of riches before, and I'm hoping to benefit from your perspective. The Ultimate Keys is very functional for everyday music. Roland delivers its most stunning 88-note multisampled grand piano yet.
I wouldn't make my worst enemy do something like that. The ultra-wide dynamic range of this sampled piano makes it ideal for virtually all musical styles. But it could be how they used them in the song. Purchased only a few days ago to complete my , is always looking for realistic piano sounds and goes everywhere. The sounds offer an incredible range of sounds, from classic organs Hammond, Vox, Farfisa etc. From the demo on roland's website, I think the srx 11 has the better piano sounds and more interesting patches.
The World Collection provides more experimental sounds. . I posted on here before that I didn't think the Juno Stage needs this card. Plus it doesn't come with any patterns and they don't conform very well to the exisiting patterns or one you may have created based on the Fantom drumsets. It has quite a bit of character, but doesn't get in the way. In Music, I use various banks piano Kontak, so the Galaxy Steinway old version.
