Have you tried to shift manually to see if it has the shudder when shifted that way? He asked me to drive it until the next oil change to see if it got worse, which it did. Along the way, I noticed fairly soon that when I got off the highway, the car would shudder at 1500 rpms. Now the problem is back. It will shift into what I think is third and throughout most of that gear it will just shutter and then stop right before the shift and then be fine. Do not buy any other fluid under the guise of 'hey, other manufacturers use the same trans! Quite simply: Worn out solenoid bores in the valve body. Look closely for wear on transmission torque mount, replace it at slightest deterioration. Identified bad wheel bearing; replaced.
Most other builder's that I know will do the same thing. Other accessories that cover the sides and seat backrests help keep the interior like new. Hers was acting funny and a fluid flush fixed it. They had problems in the earlier years that were rectified by 05 or 06. It will certainly help to keep the valve body pistons lubricated and not have abrasives in the fluid. I always thought that was silly, but it's hard to know in a concrete, scientific kinda way whether the majority of these transmissions fail because someone didn't follow the manufacturer's rec. We now have the light on again.
